DHURRIES - DESI HOUSE

It all started when jewellery designer Michaela Niegemann Sequeira came to India in 2011. While on a trip to Rajasthan, due to her jewellery business and later while going through the busy streets of Mumbai, a thought struck her. Michaela wondered if she could somehow take these handcrafted Indian products and give them a Scandinavian touch. Then introduce these to the Scandinavian and Indian market. So in 2017, she travelled around Rajasthan, spotting the right craftsmen who could make her designs of Dhurries and bags come alive. That is how her brand Desi House was created.

Michaela Niegermann Sequeira, founder of Desi House is a silversmith and designer with a love for handicrafts and storytelling.
