"The Living Craft of Weaving: Experiences & Values"

Raj Group is an 81year old family business, based in Panipat, India. The company employs 6000 skilled workers, and specializes in hand and machine-made home decor products. It is one of the largest home décor exporters with reputed global clients/customers.

Raj has always maintained the importance of sustaining, protecting and showcasing the craft of the weaving industry from which it was born. In 2015, The Raj Art Initiative was launched to give weaving a platform to transform itself into works of art through collaborative immersive projects, including art residencies, with artists from across the world.

As a company, the vision of Raj is to be inclusive, honest and innovative. While they patronize the craft of weaving, they also respect that every craft has its own journey, so their projects aim to build a bridge between the past and the present, to document the legacy of a craft that has seamlessly evolved over the years. 

On the day of the Presentation, Mr Sumeet Nath, Partner of Raj Group and Shailin Smith, Management Representative, will walk us through these projects & initiatives, and showcase some of their products.
