THE LOINS OF PUNJAB

Enter a roller-coaster world of seven strangers whose lives collide during an amateur Indian-Idol style singing contest in a small New Jersey town.

Loins of Punjab is a 2007 Indian film directed by Manish Acharya. It stars Shabana Azmi, Ayesha Dharker, Ajay Naidu and our very own Jinx Akerkar and her daughter, Avantika. The film marked Acharya’s first feature film as a director. Jinx acts as a suspicious old American lady who lives next to the hotel where the contestants are staying. Avantika plays the role of one of the judges.
