FROM THE DESK OF THE PRESIDENT

This is not Indus’ 51st year, this is the first of the next 50 years – as coined by Sandra Bryden, our British member, on her recent visit to Mumbai. Indus is still rooted in the ideals and principles with which it was founded, namely the ties of friendship across the world, but it is also changing, keeping pace with the changes in the world, its new wonders and afflictions. Indus is a 21st century organization, relevant with its engaging and enriching environment.

And finally, the rains have come and lowered the temperatures. Still somehow, the traffic hasn’t eased but is at its worst! So please do leave extra time to get to meetings.

Our logo quiz was a huge success with many of you sending in your thoughts, thank you for participating! Find out about the winners and their amazing insight into this year’s logo and its meaning in the next page. We are thrilled and proud to stand for all that it means!

In keeping with our “Go Green” theme, many members have told us that they would like to receive only the electronic version of the monthly newsletter, which would mean using less paper and so be friendlier to the environment. If you are one of these ladies, please email Ana or Maya and your wish will be granted! Also, if you are on Whatsapp, please send your name to Anita Mahtani on 9619272818.

The coffee morning for the new members was a great ice breaker and it was super to meet all those that could come. We hope to see you all more often at the meetings and hope you can get involved and participate in the many more ways that Indus provides.

There’s much in store in the next few months. Our enthusiastic team is working to give you very interesting meetings. The Fellowship will be in September and will focus on Islamic Culture. Please contact the Vice Presidents if you would like to participate/contribute.

A gentle reminder to members who have yet to send in their renewal form and fees, please do so by the end of July.

Enjoy this season and see you at our meetings.
