EXQUISITE PRODUCT + WOMEN’S EMPOWERMENT +
POVERTY ALLEVIATION + SUSTAINABILITY
There are many ways to view the beautiful process of transforming yarns into cloth through hand weaving. There is the fashion angle; the business angle, the social welfare angle; and the preservation conservation angle.
Women Weave Charitable Trust (WW) has been involved in all of the above for many years. They like the woman angle a lot. They like the way it relates to all the ’other angles’ and makes the life of many women in rural India both possible and, sometimes, enjoyable.
Designers in over twenty countries collaborate with WomenWeave Charitable Trust to create and market bespoke accessories woven by the delicate, skilled hands of over 100 women in Central India. Their products are unique
Sally Holkar, Founder CEO of WomenWeave Charitable Trust, will bring with her a small team of very impressive women weavers who will give you a whole new take on that handloom scarf you bought recently. They will invite you to that wonderful ’other place’; sometimes referred to as ’Rural India’.
