ART HISTORY

Abigail McGowan will speak on Art History. Abigail McGowan is the Associate Dean of Arts & Sciences at the University of Vermont. She has done her PhD from the University of Pennsylvania. A specialist in modern South Asian history, she teaches courses  on modern South Asia, the Himalayas and South Asian visual and material culture. Her first book was Crafting the Nation in Colonial India. She is a recipient of numerous grants and she was most recently awarded a Fulbright-Nehru Research Fellowship to be held from January-June 2019.

She will speak on Art History with an emphasis on Indian & South East Asian Art.
