WEBSITE INDUS:

We are looking into the possibility of upgrading our Indus website. Anyone with great ideas and skills, please contact the computer committee or the presidents.

MEETINGS:

We are very happy that most people switch their mobiles off during the meetings! Thank you. But we have another kind request: please be on time. The meeting starts at 11.00.  Please do not walk away from a meeting before the chairlady has thanked the speaker. It is very rude that, while the chairlady is still speaking, almost everyone is busy leaving the room.  So please be patient for a few minutes more…

INDUS QUIZ:

The Shirin Chagla Trophy for the Indus Quiz was won by Marge Gubbay and Madhavi Shah

Congratulations to Ila Kaji on the wedding of her son.

CONDOLENCES

Our deepest sympathies to Elizabeth Nayyar on the demise of her husband.

CHAIRLADIES 2014-2015

We are still in need of a few chairladies for the activity groups and would like to ask you to please come forward and participate in INDUS.

What is involved in being a chairlady?

Together with your co-chairperson, you plan 11 meetings in the year. One or both chairladies need to be present at the meeting. Finding a speaker and a venue are the prime tasks. There are 11 Executive meetings to attend where you will present your upcoming meeting and the attendance sheets from the previous month’s meeting. The blurb (the newsletter entry) is submitted each month to the vice-presidents at these meetings. It is a great way to get to know more about Indus and many lasting friendships are formed between the co-chairs. You do not need to have belonged to Indus long to be a good chairperson – you just need to have a sense of adventure and a willingness to participate actively in the club.

You are welcome to contact Mumtaz or Dettha for more information.
