FROM THE DESK OF THE PRESIDENTS

Welcome back to all our members who are now back in town or to those who had been enjoying a cooler climate home in Mumbai. We hope you will participate in and enjoy all the exciting events over the next few months.

Thank you to all our chairladies for continually providing us with superb meetings right throughout the year. There are so many of you amazing ladies in our Indus community who are constantly contributing, providing ideas, words of wisdom and support across of wide range of issues and we appreciate you all. This includes members involved in the Festival of Charities, Disbursement Committee, Membership Committee and Advisory Committee. The Indus Travel Committee could write a book about trips to take both domestically and internationally, and we are really enjoying reading about their impending trip to Japan.

We are delighted to announce the Indus International fundraiser for the year 2017 is being held on Friday 17th of February on the beautiful lawns of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sanghralaya (previously known as the Prince of Wales Museum).

We want to see you all there and hope you are able to bring lots of family and friends along to join in the festivities. “The more the merrier “ not only means more enjoyment for us, but more funds being raised that we can donate to our charities and make a difference to other people’s lives! Almost 100 percent of the donor card amount will be going directly to the charities we are supporting this year.

The primary beneficiary this year is St. Mathews Municipal School at Malvan village which has 2000 students. The school has immense talent and needs good teachers. We will sponsor the teachers’ salaries for overall development and nursing extra curricular skills. We are also supporting sex workers’ children’s education through Jeevan Such foundation, and other charities.

The golden 50th year has begun. Let’s add a sparkle to less fortunate lives!!!
