A Visual History of Indian Modern Art

In less than two decades, since it was established, Delhi Art Gallery has been distinguished for its focus on 20th century Indian art. The gallery’s collection follows a chronological trajectory of modernism in India. Its museum-like collections range from the early-moderns to the moderns and include all the masters and senior artists of the movement. As one of the largest such repositories of Indian modern art anywhere in the world, Delhi Art Gallery is a key destination for anyone with an interest in Indian art – whether art lovers, collectors, academics, scholars, researchers or investors.

Delhi Art Gallery is pleased to partner with the Indus for a coffee morning, where a curated walk-through of the Gallery will be accompanied by a talk on Indian modern art. Attendees will enjoy the Gallery's latest exhibition - 'A Visual History of Indian Modern Art' - which has brought to Mumbai the best and most significant works displayed by Delhi Art Gallery at the India Art Fair 2015 (IAF), which was held this February. At IAF, the Gallery exhibited close to a thousand artworks, consisting of paintings and sculptures which chart the Indian modernist journey.
