For March, Cooking Swapshop goes vegan! Across the world, there is a growing interest in vegan cuisine, as people increasingly turn to plant-based diets for tackling weight management and other chronic ailments. Our speaker Shalini Goenka is part of SHARAN, an organization devoted to spreading awareness about holistic health and an ecologically sustainable and compassionate lifestyle.

Shalini adopted a vegan lifestyle in 2005 after years of health issues, and has subsequently trained as a yoga teacher, nutrition counsellor and a diabetes educator. Since 2018, she has been conducting talks and cooking classes with plant-based nutrition plans. She will be joined by SHARAN’s Shashi Rungta, the well-known vegan cook, who was also initially drawn to a vegan lifestyle for health reasons and in doing so, discovered a passion for healthy vegan cuisine.

During our meeting, Shalini and Shashi will discuss their own experiences with vegan cooking and Shashi will demonstrate dishes that are not only healthy, but easy to prepare and delicious. Join us to take a step towards a healthier and tastier lifestyle!
