Jaipur Block Prints …Unfolding the ART

Hand Block Printing is a centuries old living Heritage that has survived and evolved over the pace of time in the land of the Indian Subcontinent. Jaipur based Textile Designer and owner of Kapoor Carpet & Textile, TINA KAPOOR, is one such person who is passionately working to conserve this Art.

She says “My affair with Block Printing started with my achieving a degree in Textile Designing and soon I knew my passion was carved in these Wooden Blocks telling stories of the local Artisan communities.

Tina soon channelized, gave form and shape to the artisans unparalleled expertise and beautiful hand washed hand dyed fabrics get created, aiming to strike a balance between old time honoured traditions and new best practices. These fabrics then make their way to Fashion Export Houses. Watching the karigars printing is like motion in poetry ...such is her passion!

Her products proudly bear the label “Handmade with love in INDIA”.

Ladies, this promises to be an interesting meeting with the textile designer from Jaipur, where she will be walking us through the entire process of Hand Block Printing technique and know how.
