KATHAK – THE DANCE OF VIBRANCE

Kathak is one of the 8 major forms of Indian classical dance. It is also the most lyrical and graceful form of art.

Gargi Shah will speak about the origin, technique and evolution of Kathak over a period of time. She will also talk about the different classical dance forms of India.

Gargi Shah is trained under the tutelage of renowned Kathak exponent and choreographer Padma Bhushan Kumudini Lakhia at the Kadam Centre for Dance and Music. She is the recipient of Sangeet Kala Kendra’s Asha Parekh trophy. She has performed in major cities of India and abroad, and has won many accolades for her mesmerising Kathak performances.
