HYDERABAD OF THE NIZAM: A VISUAL TALK ON THE ASAF JAHS OF HYDERABAD

We shall trace the earliest photographs from the court of the Asaf Jah dynasty and provide insights into the city, palaces and lifestyle of the Nizams of Hyderabad.

Deepthi Sasidharan shall share her experiences about working on the restoration of the Chowmahalla Palace.

In lieu of the ongoing exhibition at the National Museum and as co- author of the Treasures of the Deccan: Jewels of the Nizams, the speaker shall share stunning images of the royals in their sartorial and jeweled magnificence.

Deepthi is a founder Director at Eka Archiving (a cultural advisory) and a Fulbright and Fundacao Oriente scholar, currently working on the Moda Goa Museum, on the redevelopment of the Bastion Bungalow, Fort Kochi and a memorial project in Porbander, Gujarat. She is the co-author of Indira A Life of Courage (2017) and Treasures of the Deccan (2018).
