JOURNEY FROM PHOTOGRAPHY TO ABSTRACT ART

Introducing Ayesha Taleyarkhan, a photographer and photo artist who recently brought out the remarkable coffee table book, 'Under the Sun: Business as Usual', and over the last decades has produced other photographic journals, 'Bombay Mumbai', 'Stree: Woman of India', 'The Black & White Edition, and'Beyond Bombay Balconies'.

Making a departure from her previous work, she now creates 'photo-art' images, which give voice to her unique style of essentially abstract art.

The theme is 'Integration. This series is defined by the process used to create the images. The computer is used as a crayon or a watercolour wash or to create vibrant symmetry, enhancing textures and layering in the colours. The compositions have their own specific identities and fall into broad categories, but are finally abstract in nature, resonating in the spirit of integration. The interpretations are endless.
