A MORNING WITH THE TIGER PRINCESS…

This morning we get together with the celebrated author and Have you ever wondered about living in the wilderness amongst the tigers for months at end…studying their every physical and emotional aspect?? Being with them and getting embraced in their environment?

Let’s meet Dr. Latika  Nath  a wildlife Biologist with a D.Phil on Tiger Conservation and Management from the University of Oxford. She is the first woman wildlife Biologist in India to work on tigers and has entered the field of tiger conservation at a time when no holistic scientific work had been done on the tiger in India.

Dr. Latika has spent over twenty-five years working at the grassroots level for tiger conservation, eventually changing focus from academic work to working with the tribal communities in the buffer zone of Kanha Tiger Reserve and the forest department for tiger conservation. She established the renowned Singinawa Jungle Lodge and through the Singinawa Foundation worked on education, health, art and alternate energy programs for the tribal villages in the region.

Her areas of interest include landscape ecology and the resolution of human wildlife conflict.

She will be speaking about working in the field of conservation ecology, her journey over the years and being the first woman in India to get a doctorate on tiger conservation.
