INDUS ETIQUETTE

We would like to remind all members to wear their badges at the meetings. If this is not done then it makes it difficult for new members and foreigners to mingle with other members. Let’s remember that the spirit of Indus is about new friendships!

Indus always needs homes to host meetings. As some Chairladies find it difficult to find hostesses for some of their meetings, we encourage you to offer your home if possible. Please inform the Vice Presidents if you are able to offer your home (and have never done so before).

We would also like to remind you that only tea/coffee and biscuits should be provided by the hostesses. Please do not serve any other food. Being a hostess should be easy and not a burden, as the focus should be on the speaker.

Indus thrives when our members are active and participative. Please ensure that you complete 10 attendance points and 2 participation points in a year from 1st April to 31st March.  7 attendances should be completed by December.

Please ensure that your cell phones are in silent mode or switched off for the entire duration of every meeting. It is very disturbing when phones start ringing during a meeting and very disrespectful to the guest speaker.

The meetings begin at 11.15 a.m. and end at 12.15 p.m. Your attendance will not be counted if you come in after 11.15 a.m. or leave before 12.15 p.m.

Lastly, we would like to remind all our members that Indus should in no case be used as a forum for publicity. It is strictly forbidden to use the directory to build emails or use the phone listings to advertise.
