THE LITTLE COFFEE SHOP OF KABUL
By Deborah Rodriguez
Imagine five disparate women congregating in a Kabul coffee shop: Sunny, an adventure-seeking American; Yasmina, a single, pregnant Afgan; Isabel, a British journalist; Candace, a wealthy, bored-with-life American; Halajan, a sixty-year old den mother. Fate has thrown them together in a very dangerous part of the world and they slowly discover there’s more to one another than is visible on the surface. The unique bond these five women form against the backdrop of bomb blasts, drug trafficking and Taliban threats, changes their lives and that of many others.
Deborah Rodrigues - a hairdresser by profession - is well-known thanks to the success of her memoir, \"The Kabul Beauty School\". While living in Kabul and running her beauty school, the author also ran a popular coffee shop, the Cabul Coffee House. The Little Coffee Shop of Kabul was her first novel, written in 2012.
