Peace & Social Justice in South Asia

Nasreen Contractor is a result oriented leader, driven to achieve sustainable impact. She has a proven ability in development and direction of organizations, programmes& processes involving a diverse and complex range of partners and stakeholders including civil society, multilateral & bi-lateral agencies.

She will talk about The Mrinal Gore Interactive Centre for Peace & Social Justice in South Asia which was established in December 2014 and works as a pressure group that helps bring different people across South Asia together for a better understanding of socio-economic problems of the region.

The issues that Mrinal Gore crusaded and campaigned for throughout her life still persist in our society and call for urgent action.

Amongst other causes, the Centre is currently addressing the theme of “South Asian Mas-culinity” through the issues of 1) Crimes in the Name of Honour and 2) Group Identity, Violence & Control, Migration etc.

Just before we start our meeting our fellow member, Rachel Wawn, will briefly address us on the upcoming Footsteps4Good initiative taking place next month.
