Residence of:  Anita Gupta

By Popular demand from the last program ; we have invited

Dr. Gireesh Warawdekar to talk to us  again on a different subject.

Acute and chronic venous disease is very prevalent in India as well as all over the world. It is has a female predominance and it is relevant to understand this disease for this association. Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) and Pulmonary Embolism (PE) are two sides of the same coin and hence need to be discussed together. Until the last decade it used to go undetected. However, advances in medical technology have facilitated its diagnosis in recent years.

We will be discussing the incidence, causes, effects and treatment of these common medical problems so as to get a better understanding of these diseases. DVT if not treated in the acute stage, can result in a life-long debility which, more often than not, cannot be treated to achieve a complete cure. Hence it is imperative to diagnose and treat both the conditions early. We will also discuss the patho-physiology of Varicose Veins to help to better understand how they are caused and why the symptoms develop.

Please come in large numbers to understand these new methods.
