Social Media and it’s impact on the Hospitality Industry

 

 

We all believe that we can easily be food or hotel critics. Is it really that easy? Is what I like necessarily what everyone else is looking for?

 

Tripadvisor, Zomato, Google+, bloggers of all kinds have made the hospitality industry more vulnerable as people today can make or break the reputation of an establishment with their comments. Many famous chefs (including Michelin 2*) have come to grief over hasty retorts to Twitter feeds – for example Claude Bossi and the youthful blogger!

 

Philippe Charraudeau, a veteran in the hospitality industry, will talk to us today and explain how the industry deals with this new phenomenon. Using real experiences, he will show us how information can be put to good use or misused.
