Flight of the Hilsa
Can fame be equated with talent? Are celebrities necessarily successful people? Can success be equated with happiness? These are the questions around which ‘Flight of the Hilsa’ revolves. It builds into the story of Avantika Sengupta, a young Bengali painter, her rich, businessman Punjabi lover, followed by an older, more genuine lover, vicissitudes of heatbreak and happiness. Can Avantika distinguish between lust and love? The story takes us through the trails, manipulations and traumas of modern living in the search for fulfillment.
Amit Shankar weaves a masterly tale. An advertising professional, Amit has worked with some of the best known advertising giants and now concentrates his talent on writing. Flight of the Hilsa, his first book, is also a National Bestseller.
We are privileged to have the consent of Amit Shankar to be witih us for the book discussion and give us an insight into his work.
