FROM THE DESK OF THE PRESIDENTS

According to Chinese astrology, 2015 will be the year of the sheep. Luckily, it will be a green sheep. A black one might have been less auspicious. More interestingly, 2015 has also been designated the International Year of Light by the United Nations. The United Nations’ intent is to bring awareness of all the benefits light brings to humanity, from a scientific point of view. But the concept of light also carries many positive spiritual and philosophical connotations. Let’s not miss out on the opportunity to be further enlightened in 2015!

We hope you will keep attending our meetings in good spirits and in large numbers, listening to stimulating and interesting talks and developing friendships. In addition to our usual program, you can look forward to adventures and discoveries in Oman in January, to a delightful and breezy picnic in February and to our highly anticipated quiz in March.

Let’s also take a moment to be thankful to our chairladies and board members who give so much of their time to put together the events and programs we can all enjoy. We hope some of you will consider getting further involved for the next Indus year – as time flies, it’s already around the corner. The rewards in fun and friendship far exceed the time commitment.

Wishing all of our Indus members a prosperous, healthy, happy … and bright year 2015!
