Connecting Interiors with our Heritage Skills
No other country is as uniquely blessed as India in terms of cultural legacies and crafts. And yet, these age old skills are languishing. Shibani Jain will reflect on the status of the crafts industry and how it is important to revive the skills that India uniquely possesses. Shibani is the Founder and CEO of Baaya Design, a design studio and store, which focuses on innovation for interior spaces leveraging artisan skills. She founded Baaya with her passion for the crafts sector and for talented artisans who deserve to get opportunities to showcase their skills.
Shibani Jain is a designer (an alumnus of NID Ahmedabad), she has worked with the corporate sector and as an entrepreneur and has worked extensively with arts and crafts at the grass root level. She won an award as “Leading Woman in Arts & Crafts Industry” from IIGlobal and co-founded Catalysts for Social Action, an NGO dedicated to providing holistic care to children in institutions.
