SALSA AND BACHATA

Avan Mehta has been involved in some form of dance for as long as she can remember.

As a child she studied ballet with the late Tushna Dallas and later partner dances in New York. For over 15 years she has been teaching Salsa and other dances like Argentine tango, hustle, cha cha, swing, merenge and bachata.

She is currently a faculty member of Shiamak Davars and FSPA (Future School of Performing Arts).

Avan also conducts her own group classes and private one-on-one lessons in Mumbai.

She is passionate about dancing, dance education and teaching and hopes to always be a contributing member of the dance community.

Today Avan is talking to us about 2 popular Latin dances called Salsa and Bachata, its origins, a brief overview and an introduction to dance the basic steps.

Dance  is   the   timeless   interpretation   of   life.
