It has been unanimously decided, this year, to focus on a single project of vital importance —the provision of clean drinking water to 3 municipal schools in Worli & Parel as follows:

1) Dr.Babasaheb Ambedkar Municipal School, Worli.

2) N.M.Joshi Marg Municipal Secondary School, Lower Parel.

3) G.K.Marg Municipal School, Lower Parel.

Indus International will associate with the Rotary Club of Bombay’s Jal Jeevan Water Resources Committee to avail of their infrastructure & experience.

The total cost of installing & maintaining 4 water filters at the above schools is Rs. 5,35,764/-and Indus will be contributing towards raising this amount. This would include a 3 year maintenance contract so that the equipment is maintained over its useful life.

We request Indus members to contribute generously to this worthy cause. The health & wellbeing of our less privileged children has to be paramount in today’s world, so from time to time some members will visit these schools to stress the importance of hygiene via talks & anecdotes, as well as to monitor the water purifying equipment provided.

Indus will receive tax exemption & due credit at each venue for its contribution, apart from the satisfaction of knowing  that we have taken the just step to making  a vital and significant  difference to the lives of our city’s children.
