NOTICE BOARD

Condolences

Our deepest condolences to Nimmi Bhatia on the sad demise of her husband.

And our deep condolences to Penelope Shrivastav on the demise of her father.

Hosting a meeting

When you are hosting a meeting, please remember, that you cannot host a second meeting within three months. To help our hardworking chairladies, we would like to request, that you are forthcoming with this information and actually inform them, that you are not due to host another meeting, when they are calling you about a house. Coordinating houses for meetings is one of the most complicated aspects of setting up the meetings, since some chairladies are new and/or foreign members. Thank you!

Meetings

Since the rainy season is now here, please remember to allow for additional travel time to reach the meetings on time, so that meetings can start on time, do not run late and the speakers are not disturbed during their presentation.

Please also remember, that for limited meetings with prior registration and cash collection, you will still have to pay your dues, even if you cannot make it on the day.

We request all members to stay on until the chairlady thanks the guest speaker.

Travel & Trips

There are still 3 seats available for the upcoming international trip to Azerbaijan, Georgia and Armenia and interested members can contact the travel committee, Anu Toshniwal, Indira Kilachand or Dina Desai.

Participation

This is an excellent time to get your participation early, please contact the Vice presidents, if you would like to offer your house or any other support.

Cookbook

The new Indus cookbook has the motto “Do It Yourself - Nice and Easy”.

Let's be frank - living busy lives, we don't have that much time to cook, there is a cook in many homes or we prefer the culinary excellence of Mumbai's restaurants.

But still, there are those days, when you open the fridge to quickly put something nice and comforting together yourself, or you wish, you could make grandma's best dish in half of the original time... The cookbook for the modern Indus woman is looking for a variety of snacky, small dishes, reflecting the variety of food enjoyed by our regional Indian and foreign ladies.

The recipes should be simple and adaptable, and we may sprinkle some practical tips to ease the process and speed up the preparation. Since food is the best way of making and keeping friends, we would also love to hear the story or origin of your recipe!

The book already has the support of Ayesha Soonawala for the design and Minoti Jain with regards to its printing, which means that all money received from the sale of the cookbook will go to charity. Let's get cooking, let's get involved and please send your international and regional Indian recipes by the 30" of August!
