STYLING A NEW LOOK

Saree blouses are no longer just a saree accessory. The contemporary version of a saree blouse becomes a style statement.

Stylist Sonia Mehta will show us how to update the saree and create a new look.

From a young age, Sonia has been extremely enamoured by textiles; especially the vast heritage of Indian textiles- hand spun/woven, natural, vegetable dyed, block printed, aesthetic and classic. She is good at re- working old textiles,melding together the old artistic sensibilities laden with sentimental values and arriving at a garment for contemporary use. She has been creating/ curating wardrobes for the past twenty-seven years, long before the term ’stylist’ became colloquial.

So let’s get together in our pretty sarees and meet her.  Bring  your

t-shirt / top / blouse / jacket and participate! Let’s throw our saree questions at her, as she will guide us onto a journey of enjoying The Saree.
