A Silsila with Chistiya Sufi Music

Sufism is more a way of life than a religion.  It is an inward process of looking within yourself, beyond reason or logic.

Music, poetry and dance are only a means of catching a glimpse of this perfection which cannot be described in words.

Let’s meet this morning a true Sufi friend….Laxmi Dhaul. She will take us through her audio visual experiences which she has collected over a period of time.  She will take us through some of the qawalis sung at the Ajmer Sharif Dargah and also at the Nizamuddin Auliya Dargah and Nusrat Fateh Ali famous qawali “Alla Ho”.

Laxmi has also penned several books.  Her recent book ‘In the Shadow of Freedom: 3 lives in Hilter’s Berlin and Gandhi’s India’ was released in the Jaipur Literature festival in Jan 2013.  Other books include ‘The Sufi Saint of Ajmer’ and ‘The Sufi Shrine of Ajmer’.  Her latest book is called ‘Magic Mantras’ a guide for young adults to achieve success.

So come and enjoy a morning of lilting music with Laxmi!
