INDIAN EQUITY MARKET - A LONG TERM GROWTH PERSPECTIVE
Indian markets have been thriving in the last one year post the elections. Proactive measures by both the Reserve Bank of India and the government has helped in containing the twin deficits (fiscal and current accounts) as well as lowering inflation. Foreign investors were major buyers in equity markets, following improved growth and inflation outlook. Further, low bond yields and depressed global growths made India an attractive investment destination.
“We believe that equity markets are likely to reflect the buoyancy in the economy and are expected to generate good returns for investors with a three to five years perspective. However, there may be near-term headwinds from international markets and some delays in the policy implementation front at home. Retail investors with a focus on long term wealth creation may also adopt a staggered approach to investing.”
Our speaker will be Mohit Bhatia, Head of Sales and Marketing, Canaro Robeco Asset Management Company Ltd., a joint venture between Canaro Bank and Robeco of the Netherlands, a global asset management company.
