THE ‘WE CAN’ FOUNDATION
The We Can Foundation, set up in 2013, aims to protect and promote the rights of neglected children living in inhuman conditions in Mumbai. Their mission is to provide these vulnerable children with a nurturing and stimulating education that will foster an eagerness to learn, eventually enabling them to live with dignity and respect.
We Can reaches out to the street/slum families located along the railway tracks and streets of Malad and Borivali by playing an active role in advising community mothers and by providing the children of these communities with a meaningful and relevant education that will unleash their hidden potential, provide them with opportunities and build character and values. Their aim is to help marginalized and deprived children become self-reliant individuals and socially responsible citizens.
Rajashri Bansiwar, Trustee of We Can, who has 30 years of experience working in the field initially with support groups such as CRS, CRY, Concern India Foundation, and later VOICE, will speak to us on this new venture which has become her mission.
