LANGUAGE EMPOWERMENT

Our speaker today is Astad Parakh, creator of “English E-Teach”. Knowledge of  English  is  a  prerequisite  for  higher  education  and job-worthiness in India, but the bulk of children from poorer areas, going to free municipal schools, do not get a chance to learn English. This can put them at a disadvantage. “English E.Teach” strives to overcome this and provide a standardized, affordable method to teach English in schools throughout Maharashtra, giving children other opportunities.

Through the creation of animated DVDs, it helps teachers cope with the compulsory Government English Syllabus, working page by page during the normal English class period. These colourful and action packed animations hold the students’ interest, which then generates English conversation and discussion within the class framework.

This initiative was conceptualised and executed by Astad Parakh through the B.C.P.T. and we feel honoured to have him speak to us about his challenges and his passion! Please do join us in seeing how simply this is done and spreading the word further!
