The famous French poet Alfonse de Lamartine once wrote:

“Suspend your trek O Time! Suspend your flight

Let us pause, savoring the quick delight

That fills the dearest day.”

We cannot believe one year has already flown by. During this year, you were given the opportunity to attend 124 talks, fellowships, trip, picnic, quiz. With so many to choose from, you were never bored. You met speakers who moved you, inspired you, made you laugh or made you think. You forged new friendships, strengthened old ones. We had placed this year under the theme of the Celebration of Womanhood. Let’s once more quote Lamartine who also wrote: “There is a woman at the beginning of all great things.” And when there are many women, we get Indus. Thanks to all of you, Indus is an incredibly successful organization, always offering a wide range of activities and remaining attractive over years and even decades. This is made possible through the dedication of the ladies volunteering each year to be part of the executive committee and those who accept to serve on the Board. We would like to thank them for their effort, enthusiasm and spirit.

Lastly, thanks to all of you for placing your trust in us this past year. We look forward to the continuing success of Indus under the guidance of the new Board which will be nominated at our next Annual General Meeting. We hope to meet most of you on the 15th of April.
