OFFERING SOLUTIONS TO DIFFERENTLY ABLED CHILDREN
Ahura Support is an NGO that guides and supports families with differently abled children, predominantly those who are mentally challenged.
Their vision is to help families to effectively cope with all difficulties from birth to adulthood. Their main concern is what happens to kids when parents are no longer around to look after them, so they offer vocational training to encourage financial independence. They also provide Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy and Behavioral Counseling. They sincerely believe that work is therapy and parents of service users have noticed remarkable changes in their children. A residential project and therapy centre is currently on the cards.
Hear from the inspiring Dr.Vispi Jokhi, who started Ahura. He is an Orthopaedic surgeon at Masina Hospital and has a child with Downs Syndrome, so is passionate about the cause.
