DEEPIKA AMIN – Actor, singer, performer

Deepika Deshpande Amin, our own Indus member, is a familiar face in Indian film, theatre, web and TV.

She has acted in critically acclaimed films like Ram Prasad Ki Tehrvi(Netflix) with Naseer & Konkona; the award winning film Gone Kesh (Prime Video) & Rough Book (Prime Video & YouTube) along with popular Bollywood hit films like Sonu ke Titu ki Sweety (Prime Video), FAN with Srk (Apple TV, Google play); Humpty Sharma ki Dulhania (Prime Video) & Tara vs Bilal.(Netflix). Her forthcoming film is Invisible Rainwith Shabana Azmi.

Her TV and web work includes Farmaan (Best Actress award), Tashn E Ishq (Zee TV), the highly acclaimed Siyaasat (Prime Video) & the popular webshow What The Folks (YouTube DiceMedia).

Starting her theatre journey in college with Barry John’s theatre group TAG in Delhi, she performed many plays with young theatre colleagues like Shahrukh Khan & Manoj Bajpayee. In Mumbai, she has acted in several plays like Tom Stoppard’s Every Good Boy Deserves Favour directed by Bruce Guthrie; Wedding Album &Boiled Beans on Toast by Girish Karnad ; Kanyadaan by Vijay Tendulkar; Sammy! by Partap Sharma; August Osage County directed by Lillette Dubey; Pereira’s Bakery& Mad About Money written & directed by Mahesh Dattani performed across India, US, UK, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore etc.

Deepika received the Mumbai Fest Naari Shakti Award 2018, the Rex Karamveer Award 2019 and the IHRC award in 2022 for contribution to Performing Arts.

She plays the guitar, sings with our Indus Choir and tries hard to continue training in Indian Classical vocal.
