ART CONSERVATION

Today we welcome Vedika Kochhar, Art conservator, restorer and consultant. She is the founder of Partum Restauro, a conservation Studio in Mumbai. Vedika has a Masters in Conservation of Art from Florence. She has worked at San Felice degli Artiginalli, Florence conserving paintings from churches in Florence, Sienna and Pisa. She also has a Masters in Art Business from Sotheby’s institute of Art London and also advises clients on how to diversify their portfolios with art, sourcing and collection management.

She will explain what conservation and restoration really are and the importance of them in the Indian context due to our climatic conditions and pollution. Using examples of the most common damage seen to paintings and paperworks in our homes she will explain the causes for them and teach us a few do’s and don’ts when taking care of our collections

as well as essentials to remember when storing and packing artworks.
